NaPoWriMo Day Five (for 4/5/14)

This poem is a “golden shovel” using a work of Rilke’s ~

Bold as redemption come the narcissus
How soft these conquerors yet now the winter vanished
No room for barren shadows for they will claim it all
This field and the hill and the small pear grove that
Shelters the sorrel vixen who remained
After her spouse in search of their dinner was
Slaughtered on the road he now lost to the
Abundant mice the napping hare the fragrance
Which bends the angels reminds my longing of
Another garden where I am rooted and his
Fierce tenderness is requited with beauty.
